An introductory call to see if there's a fit. If there is, we sign a simple NDA and I take a look at basic financials — enough for both of us to know whether it's worth going further.
We meet in person where we can, and I get to know the business in more depth. If it's still a fit on both sides, I send a written indicative offer — a letter of intent with a proposed structure and price range.
A proper review — financial, legal, operational — done thoroughly but without dragging it out. This is also when we start shaping what the first 100 days after closing could look like.
Signing the purchase agreement and transferring ownership — straightforward, and handled by people who've done this before.
